Spring Riding
With all the snow we have had so far this year, it seems we could have riding until June. More likely though the sun will win out and melting will finally overtake the in town trails. When this happens then the great riding begins! Spring riding offers some of the best riding of the year. Just head for the hills. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by wooded mountains that hold their snow long after we lose it in town. The snow is compacted from the heat and riding anywhere is possiable without getting stuck. There are no limits to the places you can go now. A light jacket will do and a BBQ grill for a picnic in the snow becomes enjoyable. Maine registration stickers are still required on all sleds. They are 33.00 dollars for residents and 68, 58 and 43 (season, 10 day, 3day) for nonresident Travel to Canada does require passing through customs. A passport or proper ID will be necessary. You may ride as far as the first clubhouse on the Canadian system. To go beyond this point, Canadian stickers which include insurance can be purchased at the clubhouse.
