The Hillcrest ,owned by Dan and Liz Hoyt has made a return to our area. Formally the Jackman- Moose River Senior Center, this building has returned to its original use of restaurant and lounge with an owner who is very familiar with this facility. Dan grew up playing in its kitchen and helping out here and there when his parents owned it while he was in grade school. Now Liz and Dan are enjoying their own family buisnessnes with their children Tyler, Jack and Sarah. The menu has been set to serve both the resertaunt and the lounge with everything from gourmet hamburgers to a full Dinner menu along with appetizers and desserts. Dan & Liz along with their Chef Chris who has joined them from Oregon enjoy all the new aspects of their family buisness. They are open Tuesday – Sunday 4pm – 9pm. Hopefully in the near future they hope to be adding a breakfast and lunch menu on the weekends. Head up the hill and wish them luck and try the Crème brulee.

We may not have that specialty store or gourmet shop around the corner but our guests will have the freshest herbs and vegetables at their fingertips while they are here.   One of the new features in the grilling area is a vegetable and herb garden.  Need a little basil on that chicken? Help yourself.  It doesn’t get much fresher than that. Just wait until you see all the new patio additions to the grill area! Mike and his boys are doing an awesome job.

Spring is Here

Its official “ice out” was  Sunday April 26th representing the beginning of the spring season in these parts. This past week already had some hot spots for fishing here in town, starting everyone a buzz with anticipation to get out on the lakes. If your into fishing for Land locked salmon,  now’s the time to make your reservation.

ATV trails are planned to open Memorial Day weekend (weather permitting) May 23rd.  The trails should be dried up enough by then to have the opening as scheduled.

The Moose are starting to come out again. Fresh green grass along the sides of the road are a big spring treat for them. Haven’t seen a spring calf yet but I’m sure the moms will have them out soon.

Thank you for rating us so highly!
